Crazy Eights
- Studies are done on kids and then they vanished
- Twenty years ago…
- Lady sells Jennifer to these people doing experiments
- Present day…
- We see Jennifer teaching a class… maybe psychology?
- Psycopath is a man without guilt
- Pictures of the kids from the experiments on the screen
- Guy gets a note in the mail… pastor? Then startled by something…
- Walking through what looks like something out of Silent Hill
- This must be Father Lyle Dey
- And we’re back…
- Just introducing us to all the characters, I guess
- Now we see a woman sculpting, Beth I assume
- She’s really angry at the clay and rips the face apart
- Now we’re at a funeral
- Walking through a house that has weird stuff in it, jars, pentagrams, dead plants, strange, disturbed paintings, a typewriter
- They’re looking for a box that they must open together
- Person was tormented, wants to let them in on something
- What’s the crap in the box?
- A picture of the group and they’re called Crazy Eights
- There’s a map!
- There was a time capsule
- This person wrote books, and he was working on a new one
- Jennifer is wandering around the house, looking at the weird art… and gets startled by dude on the other side
- Child’s footprints in the dirt in front of the art thing
- They’re at a restaurant arguing about whether to dig up the time capsule
- “We can beat this fear, but not alone”
- Alright, fine, they’ll go
- But why are they all eating on the same side of the table?
- Entonsburg, but the population of the town is scratched out
- Stop to get gas, this never goes well
- No cell signal in the boonies
- I guess they’re where they are supposed to go, or they just have to get out and walk because there’s a pole down in the road
- Heading to the barn that isn’t at all creepy
- There’s a chest placed prominently in the middle of the barn… and it’s locked
- I’m sure we can fix that
- Fixed
- The stuff in the box was theirs
- Person’s name was Brax Young?
- Hearing voices
- We’ll just lug it outside so we don’t have to stay in the creepy barn
- Guy is having nightmares about the group…falling trunk jump-scare
- Child’s corpse in the bottom of the trunk
- We should close the box up and run away
- Brent is a prick
- Driving in circles… keep passing the same white house and then some girl runs by
- Of course the house is important
- No power, duh
- No one recognizes the house because…?
- We should probably go into the creepy cellar
- Singing finger jump-scare
- Wayne falls and breaks his leg and somehow it looks like ground beef
- Gina doesn’t have any idea how to work an electrical panel
- And it worked.
- Now that there’s light, it’s fine to leave Wayne alone
- Brent is all fucking fuck fuck, but finds a condemned notice out front of the house
- You THINK Wayne broke his leg?
- I’m sure it’s just a bruise…
- Trespassers will be shot without notice
- There’s a child’s skull on a shelf
- And now the cellar door has been locked. Weird.
- Looks like a bunch of rooms under the house that couldn’t possibly exist in a real house like this… cells, maybe
- “There’s no way this is part of an old house” I just said that!
- Thank goodness you brought the slingshot that you then dropped
- Lyle and Gina walk downstairs
- Of course all the windows have bars
- No one finds any of this familiar? Nothing?
- Beth flips through a book and then he starts reading from it… Brax’s book
- Talks about the girl in the box
- Lyle is praying
- Beth hears something, follows it away from the group
- Why are you in the corner?
- Nobody puts Baby in the corner!
- Bunk beds with numbers
- And names… their names
- Wayne hears something too
- Wayne, what are you doing?
- Window falls on Wayne’s head… at least they don’t have to carry him around anymore
- He’s dead.
- Beth starts freaking out, Brent is going to get out and leave Wayne
- Jen is wandering the facility
- They’ve found a kitchen
- Put Wayne’s body in the cellar (that they’re in?)
- Lyle tells a story about someone hiding in the darkness in the church
- Everyone starts talking about how they’ve been seeing things
- Jen knows exactly where everything in this kitchen is
- Can you find the can opener Jen?
- There ya go, good girl…
- Alright, Gina is pissed…
- Beth has been silently freaking out, so they’re going to go walk her now
- Gina knows where the blankets are
- Heartbeat sound
- They see the girl and give chase
- Pictures of kids on the wall
- I wonder if the girl they’re seeing is the girl in the box
- Darkened bathroom with mirrors… I think we know how this is going to go
- Screaming in the mirror jump-scare
- And now Beth is sucking her thumb
- Ghost girl talks to Beth
- Is Beth going to pull out her own tongue?
- Nope, just her whole jaw
- I’m sure Brent is next, because he’s an asshole
- Who puts a bucket in the middle of the floor?
- I think Brent is walking in circles
- Lyle is reading the book while Gina sleeps
- I guess it’s morning now
- Brent is still lost
- Brent thinks he’s going to get out… so that’s funny
- What was that laser gun sound?
- Jen thinks something is somewhere… she’s looking for a butterfly? There it is, painted on the wall
- “We lived here in this room” Yes, but your names were on bunks in some other part of the facility…
- Jen and Lyle run off
- Find the picture of the doctor
- I bet that mirror in the room was one way
- Hey, at least Brent is still going
- Brent finds a sort of playroom
- And the door shuts on him
- They break through the mirror
- Lots of bladed instruments
- Notes, yay!
- Jen is the psychologist, she knows all about this stuff
- Yup, they were experimenting on you
- Come on, no one remembers Karen?
- I love the fence around the “socialization tools”
- Brent finds a baseball base… the dirt that he’s been seeing
- And I guess that’s where Brent dies
- Gina is freaking out
- Gina runs out to puke
- Thank god she finds a toilet in this shithole so she doesn’t get puke on the filthy floor
- Gina attacked in the bathroom, I guess she tears out her eyes or something
- Is that Brent’s hand on the floor… because big watch
- So clearly, they’re responsible for putting Karen in the trunk
- Brax was the first to remember
- Something about guilt
- We’re just going to leave Gina alone now
- Brent had the slingshot, we must destroy it too!
- Foreshadowing sharp pipes
- Alright, not clear how Lyle stabbed his neck on the pipe, but it happened
- You can’t just burn the stuff to make the guilt go away
- Here Gina, take the pointy stick that you will probably use to kill yourself
- “Just don’t use the bathroom…”
- Is there a storm outside now?
- Gina is inching around in the dark… and stabs Lyle
- Now we have the brushes
- Gina backs right into Karen and gets dead
- Jennifer finds everyone else dead, but at least she has brushes and slingshot
- Really inefficient way to start a fire
- Why do you have to light paper again?
- Jen is throwing shit around
- Sure seems like Jen is crazy
- It’s a good thing none of these people have families
- I guess Jen killed herself
- One box leads to redemption, one box leads to more tests
- I’m sure that ending means something, but I’m not sure what
